For a man who died far too soon, in his short time on this earth, Hank Williams left an incredible catalogue of songs and music that not only touched the lives of millions, but changed the face of country music forever. Hank’s genius at songwriting and passionate vocal delivery had an honesty and charm both accessible and poignant which endeared him to so many.

Now you can hear a selection of those songs in Duncan, when SandyBone brings “An Evening of Hank Williams Songs” to the Showroom at 131 Station St. on Thursday, Nov. 12 starting at 7:30 p.m.

It seems that SandyBone has been hearing Hank Williams music for his entire life starting on car radios when he was a youngster; on countless juke boxes; to later buying records, and eventually playing Williams’s songs in various country bands. Bone developed a profound respect and love for Williams’s tunes, many of which seemed to be speaking directly to him. And that right there is the magic of Williams.

Williams released 31 singles and charted seven No. 1 hits between 1947 and 1952, adding to that list with songs which were released posthumously. All of his songs (he wrote more than 160), both self written and cover tunes, are performed with the utmost of precision and finesse leaving a musical legacy to rival any. He left us with so many memorable songs, that the hardest part for Bone is trying to decide which songs to share with you all. He has chosen a few select songs, some early, some later, some relatively obscure, and some well-known hits, so as to offer up a bit of an overview, a taste if you will, of the various styles and nuances Williams achieved in his brief time with us. Hope you enjoy hearing these songs of Hank Williams as much as Bone enjoys playing them.

Renowned for his charismatic, passionate performances SandyBone has devoted his life to music, playing, recording, producing and touring at festivals, in clubs and theatres and studios across North America and around the globe for over 40 years. This respected Canadian musician sings, composes and plays guitar, drums and harmonica. SandyBone has shared the stage with the likes of Kim Wilson, Sonny Rhodes, Jeff Healey, Matt Minglewood, Dutch Mason, Suzie Vinnick, Big Dave McLean, Sneezy Waters, and many more.

A limited number of tickets ($20 each) will be sold to the event at the Showroom: https://www.showroomproductions.ca/buy-tickets
