“A mainstay on the concert calendar for many seasons, the return of the Noteworthy Concert series will again offer classical music lovers the opportunity to hear and appreciate world-renowned musicians in an intimate setting with on-stage seating,” says a press release about the Bergmann Piano Duo.

The first concert is on Monday, Nov. 1, at 10:30 a.m. Titled From Paris to New York…and Hollywood, it promises to deliver a musical journey through Paris of the late 19th century, then head across the Atlantic to New York and finally Hollywood. It will feature selections from George Bizet’s suite Jeux d’enfants, Claude Debussy’s symphonic fragment for piano four hands, along with some new arrangements of George Gershwin’s music from Porgy and Bess and excerpts of Jerome Moross’s film score for the 1958 western The Big Country.

The second concert is scheduled for Nov. 29, at 10:30 a.m., and titled Music for 287 Strings and 17 Pedals! It will feature two harps and one piano, with the Bergmanns welcoming guests Miya and Kaori Otake, sisters who play the harp. They will take on pieces by composers such as Bach, Gounod, Saint-Saëns and Franck.

The Bergmanns are known internationally thanks to concerts across North America and Europe. They’ve made a number of recordings, and also received many accolades, including first prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Caltanissetta, Italy.
