Using multiple forums to express herself, local artist Karola Schabernak opened up her home-based RainFlower Studio for a few days in advance of Valentine’s Day, in order to show off and sell her works.

Inviting fellow local artist Rosemary Danaher in to sell her hand-crafted jewellery, Shabernak’s studio was full of the duo’s beautiful works.

“I’ve always been interested in jewellery,” Schabernak said. “I have an affinity for pearls. I wanted to bring pearls to the public that were real pearls, but not too expensive.”

Unique paintings using 300 pound paper and gouache, an opaque watercolour, dotted the walls, with additional items, including Ukranian Easter eggs, on the tables.

“They draw evil further out from the world,” she said, of the eggs’ mythology.
