Judy Hogg’s Celtic Rhythm Dancers and Ricki-Lee Allison’s Summit Dancers are again joining forces to present a dance-filled kickoff to the holidays on Saturday, Dec. 1.
Entitled Silver and Gold, this event is selling out at the Cowichan Ticket Centre so hurry to get your seats.
If you’ve never been to one of these events, I can personally say that they’re an unabashed celebration of Christmas and, from the name of the show, this one promises to be “a sparkly prelude” to the season.
These are family events, as lots of parents and grandparents come to see the students dance, but if you love kids and love a fun night out, this is something you should attend, too.
Tickets for adults are only $15, with children getting in for $12, so bring the whole family. Call the Cowichan Ticket Centre at 250-748-7529 or stop in today and pick up those seats before they’re all gone.

The wind from the South End has brought a note about the 28th annual Mill Bay Christmas Variety Show.
This event packs (and I mean packs) the Mill Bay Community League Hall and will do so again on Sunday, Dec. 2. Showtime is 6:30 p.m. and I recommend you get there early if you need a chair.
There are refreshments, free parking, and an old fashioned family Christmas event on tap. It’s sponsored by the Mill Bay Community League, and produced by Brenda’s Brats so you know it will be great fun for all.
Entry is by donation to the food bank, so grab the family and make tracks to the hall for an evening of holiday cheer.

It runs from Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m.

Just heard that one of my favourite Valley songbirds, Lynnea Bruce, has new cause for celebration.
“My first year as a wedding videographer has been amazing!” she reports. “It’s held many learning curves and emotional experiences.
