VIDEO: Lake Cowichan firefighters cook up a storm to help Christmas food drive

Lake Cowichan firefighters were out Friday and Saturday, Dec. 8 and 9, outside Country Grocer, collecting donations of toys, food, and, of course, cash, to help out the Cowichan Lake Community Services Christmas hamper campaign, as well as the Lake Cowichan food bank.

They were on deck extra early, even before the fog cleared, on Saturday morning, cooking up a yummy breakfast of pancakes and sausages, coffee, hot chocolate, and juice to earn even more to help out both deserving efforts.

It took a while before the thundering herd closed in on the outdoor kitchen, but as the fog lifted and the sun shone, people began to crowd around.
