VIDEO: Honeymoon Bay Day, July 14, promises lots of family fun

A pancake breakfast, a parade, activities at the hall, and a movie later: there’s plenty on the go

Take the family to Honeymoon Bay Day on Saturday, July 14.

The Honeymoon Bay Community Society, Cowichan Lake Recreation, Honeymoon Bay Fire Rescue, Island Savings Credit Union, and the Cowichan Lake District Chamber of Commerce are all teaming up to present quite the event.

It all starts with a pancake breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the fire hall, by donation.

Then, set up those lawnchairs or park the truck in a strategic place and get ready for the parade, which marshalls at March Road and Pauls Road at 10:15 a.m. and officially gets underway at 11 a.m. making its way along South Shore Road to the Honeymoon Bay Hall.

There, you can enjoy a Show & Shine car show that opens at 9 a.m. and continues until 1 p.m., and live entertainment from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

There’s also a free physical literacy obstacle course and fun activities for kids outside the hall from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and a chamber of commerce visitors’ centre showcase as well.

That night, at the hall, it’s Family Movie Night featuring Paddington 2. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the movie at 7 p.m. There will be a concession available.
