Get ready to paint the town with horsepower and heritage, said a press release for the Corvette & Murals event taking place in Chemainus on May 17 to 19.

“We are thrilled to welcome automotive enthusiasts and families to Chemainus for this exciting event,” said Melody Smythies, event manager of the Chemainus + District Chamber of Commerce. “Combining the beauty of our historic murals with the power of classic Corvettes, this weekend celebrates our community’s passion for both art and automotive culture. We invite everyone to join us for a memorable experience.”

The event is being hosted by the Victoria Corvette Club.

“This vibrant celebration promises a weekend filled with classic cars, stunning murals, and adrenaline-pumping activities for automotive enthusiasts and families alike,” said Chamber.

Kicking off the festivities on Saturday, May 18 is a Show and Shine at Waterwheel Park, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Visitors will have the opportunity to marvel at a stunning lineup of meticulous Corvettes, each a testament to automotive craftsmanship and innovation.

“Immerse yourself in the beauty of these iconic vehicles against the backdrop of Chemainus’s world-renowned murals, creating a blend of artistry that is truly unparalleled,” the Chamber said.

On Sunday, May 19, the action shifts to Fuller Lake Arena for an Autocross event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Watch as skilled drivers navigate a challenging course with precision, showcasing the agility and performance of their Corvettes.

“Whether you’re are a seasoned enthusiast or simply curious about the world of motorsports, the Autocross promises thrills for all ages,” the Chamber said.
