The winners of the Light’n Up Cowichan Lake contest were announced last week. Many local businesses and groups sponsored the contest.

Cassy’s Coffee House — never behind the door when community fun is afoot — took first place among the businesses with Salon 87 finishing second, and third place going to Deep Fried Ice Cream.

Among the residential entries, the Hughes place took top honours, with the Joneses finishing second and the Fearons, third.

Honourable Mention went to Ed’s Outdoor Shop — now home to a coffee shop, and Lake Cowichan Public Works, and Cowichan Lake Community Forest Cooperative for their efforts around town, and a special award went to Dennis and Donna Jones for their Christmas village display at Youbou.
