Elder College co-chairs David Denyer and Betsy Burr invite everyone to check out programs now available for seniors 50 and over.

More than 18 courses are available this February to June. Many courses are back by popular demand including travel, music, art, gardening, outdoor activities, history, fitness, literature and more. New courses include solar energy basics through to retirement planning.

Most courses are held at the Cowichan Community Centre in Duncan. Others are held at Kerry Park Recreation Centre or off-site including trails, parks, and other outdoor venues. The outdoor sessions include fly tying, birding by ear, lawn bowling and more.

Elder College is always looking for new ideas and instructors. If you have a course suggestion or are interested in teaching a new course, contact 250-748-7529.

“Volunteer instructors willing to share their passions, skills, expertise and life experiences are key to our success,” says a press release for the series.

Participants are required to pay an annual membership fee of $10. Individual course fees vary based on the number of sessions. All courses are delivered in person and in accordance with provincial health requirements.

Anyone interested in joining the Elder College Advisory Committee should call 250-748-7529 (Jennifer Carmichael). For more information check out https://www.cvrd.ca/2401/Cowichan-Community-Centre or https://www.facebook.com/eldercollege
