The Cowichan Valley’s Kim Barnard made her sacrifice for Cops for Cancer on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at high noon.

Barnard shaved off all of her long hair as a fundraiser to support the Tour de Rock Cops for Cancer 2020 ride, with an assist from Roy Davies of Style Centre Barber Shop in Shawnigan Lake.

“My original goal of $2,020 was surpassed by [almost] 200 per cent,” Barnard said.

On Nov. 4, her fundraising page (https://support.cancer.ca/site/TR/CopsforCancer/COPS_BC_odd_?px=13526276&pg=personal&fr_id=27169) registered a total of $3,950 raised.

“I’d like to thank my Rotary of Club of Duncan and other Rotarians as well as my family and friends whose hearts were moved to support the kids and families whose lives have been impacted by dealing with cancer,” Barnard summed up.
