Stacy Middlemiss, the gal with the big smile and the great idea, is back again this year with her 10th annual Caring with Cookies campaign.
It’s all about providing Christmas cheer for the less fortunate and down-on-their-luck and all you have to do is bake a few dozen cookies.
“We bag them into individual packages and deliver them to several shelters around the Island,” Middlemiss says. “In 2016, 1,400 packages [were delivered to] 20 different shelters/organizations.
“You can donate cookies until Dec. 20. Cookies should be packaged in a Ziploc bag or container you do not need back. Please help us by writing the number of cookies on each container or bag that you drop off.
“If you don’t bake but want to contribute, please pass this information along to friends and family to help us meet out goal.”
Anyone who wants to help can drop off home-baked cookies at the designated drop-off locations, which include:
Lake Cowichan: Patricia Thomson Notary Public, 92 Cowichan Lake Rd.
Duncan: Cowichan Sound & Cellular, 951A Canada Ave.
Ladysmith: Uforik Computers, 410B First Ave.
Mill Bay: 2 for 1 Pizza, 2690 Mill Bay Rd.
If it’s not possible to get to one of these locations, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or phone her at 250-419-1473.
