Get ready for the annual Terry Fox Run, live and in person for 2022.

The Duncan event will take place at the BC Forest Discovery Centre on Sunday, Sept. 18.

Runners and walkers are welcome to hit the trails on that day in person, or can take part virtually, say organizers. People are also welcome to make a donation.

To register or donate, go to https://run.terryfox.ca/2963

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Terry Fox Run has not been held as a full-scale event for the last couple of years. This marks its return to the Forest Discovery Centre.

The run honours the late Terry Fox, who succumbed to cancer while on a cross-Canada run in 1980 to raise money and awareness for cancer research. He called his run the Marathon of Hope.

Every year thousands of people around the world take up his mantle, lacing up their running shoes to follow in his footsteps to raise money for cancer research.
