Cobble Hill Farmers Institute declares fair a “great success”

No numbers have been calculated but people who attended the fair are reporting a great experience

Sunshine and smiles dominated the 113th annual Cobble Hill Fair on Saturday as the fair’s first in-person event in a couple of years took place in the heart of the community.

Former longtime Cobble Hill Area Director Gerry Giles, now sits on the Farmers Institute board and said the fair was fantastic.

“Having been involved in the Cobble Hill Fair since 1974, I can tell you I was very surprised by the number of people who attended the fair,” she said. “I think it must have been a near record crowd and importantly nearly everyone I saw had a huge smile on their face and said how wonderful it was to have the fair back.”

While the official stastics of the event won’t be calcuated for a while, according to a note put out on social media by the Cobble Hill Farmers Institute at the end of the event, “Today’s 113th Cobble Hill Fair seems to be a great success. No numbers have been calculated yet, but the people who attended the various sections of the Fair are reporting a great experience,” said the notice. “We have heard wonderful comments on social media about the awesome variety of food, the Kids’ Zone and Donald Dunphy, the entertainment line up, the opportunity to see and even pat the animals, the great opportunity to compete in our hall entries, the 4-H demonstrations, the antique farm equipment, we could go on and on and we are appreciative.”
