Calling all bakers: Get ready to bake a prize-winning 75th annivesary cake

Cash prizes, and fun await everyone brave enough to take up the challenge

Calling all cake bakers!

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Lake Cowichan, the Lake Cowichan 50+ Centre is holding a cake bake-off with an anniversary theme.

There are some very talented bakers in Lake Cowichan, as we all saw in the Easter Cake bake-off.

So, get ready to show your stuff. There are People’s Choice cash prizes of $100, $75, and $50. The cakes will be sold by silent auction.

Register at the Lake Cowichan 50+ Centre (opposite the post office) or email seniors@islandnet.com before Aug. 10.

It all takes place at the Centre on Friday, Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The public viewing and silent auction takes place at the same time.
