Blue Grouse has been voted the best winery in this year's Best of the Valley.
Blue Grouse winery officially received its licence to operate as both a winery and retail store in 1992. They revitalized their brand in 2013, and in 2017 planted their first new vineyard in more than 20 years, and then expanded again in 2021 planting 20 more acres with a focus on wines such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gamay Noir and Pinot Meunier. Pamela Sanderson, who has been the winery's Tasting Room manager since 2020, said it feels fantastic to be voted best winery in the valley and that it was quite unexpected.
Blue Grouse, located at 2182 Lakeside Road, had a busy summer and was proud to once again be a part of this year's wine festival that came to a close at the end of August. The top voted winery will soon be switching over from being open seven days to five days a week for their fall season.
"We are just really excited about what's happening in the valley in general," said Sanderson. "We are really big advocates of bringing the whole wine industry in the valley forward, not just this winery. Everybody does so well, and it's important that everyone be recognized. That raises the whole profile of the region, and that is a big focus for us."
