2010 Lady of the Lake

Hello everyone at Cowichan Lake!

Spring is here and I want to fill you all in with what’s been new with us.

Holly, Ally and I were able to see our “Sparkle Head” friends in Ladysmith on March 30th when they held their 2011 speech and talent night.

Just this past weekend, April 8-10, the Cowichan Lake Ambassador team and I headed on a road trip down to the U.S.A. to participate in four parades in one day.

We left Lake Cowichan Friday morning at 6:15 a.m. to catch an early ferry.

Once we got to Tacoma, Washington, we set up our float and put 1000 fresh daffodils on it. Saturday, our first parade was in Tacoma, followed by Puyallup, then Sumner and ending in Orting. We had a blast participating in their Daffodil Festival and meeting many new friends from a new country!

We would like to send our appreciation to our float driver, Rob Frost and chaperone, Tanya Kaul for their endless hours in supporting us.

We have been very busy with local events and encouraging the new 2011 candidates.

Trips to the Nanaimo Pageant and the Ladysmith Pageant took place April 15-16.

The ladies will also be helping out at this year’s Cowichan Lake District Chamber of Commerce Spring Fling, Saturday, April 23, at Upper Centennial Hall (see above article). I hope all is well in all of your lives. I’ll have a new update soon!
