March Meadows' ladies begin their golf season in the cold

March Meadows Ladies Division

March Meadows Ladies started off the season Thursday, April 14.

The ladies held their spring meeting and played nine holes of golf.

Low net winners were Margaret Lavigne, Sam Jones, Carol Peterson, Judy Merrett, Sylvia Lingren and Veronica Clarkson.

There was fresh snow in the hills all around the golfers.

Thursday, April 21 saw the start of the Pin and Spoon Competition and  the Spring Eclectic.

Sylvia Lingren was low gross winner and runner-up was Corrine Floyd.

Margaret Lavigne, Marion Price, Sam Jones, Christine McGovern and Judy Merrett were low net winners.

Carol Peterson shot the only birdie of the day. Chip-ins were carded by Lorraine Oliver, Margaret Lavigne, Sylvia Lingren, Marion Price and Judy Merrett. Corrine Floyd was K.P. (closest to the pin) winner.

The ladies golfed in some sun but it was cool.

On Thursday, May 12, the ladies played the first round of Medal Cup and Par Day.

Corrine Floyd was the low gross winner and runner-up was Sam Jones.

Low net winners were Christine McGovern, Judy Merrett, Diane Owens, Marion Zboyovsky and Sylvia Lingren.

Marion Zboyovsky and Diane Owens both shot chip-ins.

Sam Jones shot K.P.

It was a cold day for golfing, but it can only get better!
