Errors haunted the Duncan Masters in a 2-1 loss to Baker Supply at Waldon Park on Tuesday evening.

The Duncan team out-hit Baker Supply 5-4, but committed three errors on the night, including a costly one that allowed two runs to score in the first inning.

“They got an extra one in the first because of an error,” Duncan manager Joe DiLalla said. “The rest is history.”

The Masters attempted to rally in the seventh, getting their lone run when Tanner McQuarrie walked then reached home on a triple by Jamie Gicas. That was all they could manage.

“We had our chances,” DiLalla lamented.

Trevor Gicas finished the night 2-for-4 with a double, while Jamie Gicas was 1-for-4 with the aforementioned triple. Dan Whiteford and Dave Devana were both 1-for-2 with one walk.

Craig Snyder pitched all seven innings for Duncan, while Baker Supply’s Kiwi import Jarred Merrit gave up five hits while striking out 15 Duncan batters.

The Duncan team plays home games at Waldon Park in Glenora every Tuesday at 7 p.m.
