The minor baseball field at Centennial Park is a hotbed of action, again, with the recent return of minor baseball.

“The season is just underway” Lake Cowichan District Minor Baseball Association Connie Vaughan said of the season, which started a couple weeks ago.

This year will see four T-ball (ages 4-6) teams, three Tadpole (ages 7-8) teams, two Mosquito (ages 9-10) teams, and two Peewee teams (ages 11-12).

Overall, Vaughan said that the association is down about 20 players from last year’s registrants, but she expects this to turn around with late comers.

“Some people don’t hear about it, so we always leave spaces on the teams,” she said, adding that most, but not all, teams have spaces remaining open.

The association can be contacted at 745-3810.
