We need school program to deter kids from drugs

Re: “We must change popular depiction of drug use in entertainment”, (Citizen, Nov. 1)

Good on Perry Foster for calling a curse for what it is, a “curse”.

He states, “for 50 years we have glorified drugs and drug use”. Correct! And now there is a push to “de-stigmatize” the hell hole life of an addict! Astounding!

I say, let’s stamp out the use of drugs in society by a program in schools so that our youth will not be caught up in the curse. Yes, it’s possible, when we look at how popular smoking was many years ago. In this day and age smoking is not “cool”.

Is anyone listening out there?
