Traffic light regulation would solve problem

I have seen a few comments about the traffic that is on the “old” bypass that goes through Duncan.

Some of the ideas fail due to reserve land and homes and businesses. The idea of blocking off streets seems good until you do some travelling in the local area. The suggestions are OK but it seems the only good one was synchronize the lights, or what the heck, make them all green for two to three minutes, with no on-demand functions until later in the evening.

Time a drive through the area, if you get all the lights green, I’d guess 1.5 minutes or less, would be the count.

It is such a short distance, that it would probably work; the people on the side roads would just have to wait a little longer at the peak traffic periods, which are not long. Just extend (lengthen) the left hand turn lanes to accommodate the extra vehicles everywhere. Alexander would be the only one that could be blocked off, considering the accidents that happen there sometimes.

If updating the traffic controllers is a must, do it, it’s cheaper than road work. They have a limited lifespan anyways.

Nothing wrong with experimenting now, is there.
