No to land code because real heirs don’t have voice
I have to respond to Cowichan Tribes chief on the land code. Until the heirs or successors are living on reserve lands, the land code cannot go through.
We have too many non-native and non-Cowichan peoples running our band office today. Our land has been stolen over generations, because our parents and grandparents were left out in the cold, from band office administration or transfers of lands and the ones before could not read or write. I have done the research on huge amounts of theft of our lands of Cowichan Band reserve; until the successors or heirs have a voice and are given their families lands; we say NO to the land code.
