Get and job and pay for housing
I have a few thoughts regarding the tenters in Charles Hoey Park.
Home ownership may be a right, but it also should be earned. Get a job, (456 jobs posted on Used Cowichan yesterday). Earn a living and make rent or mortgage payments like the rest of us have to. However, if this is not possible, it seems advocate Brett has her own home. Perhaps she could invite the tenters to stay at her place and share utilities until suitable free housing can be found for them all.
I’m sure the tenters will leave the park as clean as when they first squatted there; to leave any kind of mess would go beyond disrespect and stupidity. Charles Hoey, like my own grandfather, fought and died for his country and the freedom we now enjoy.
