Don’t take away PAN Disposal’s business

I live in beautiful Shawnigan Lake. It has come to my attention that the CVRD has plans in the works to replace the waste and compost disposal services that we are currently getting from PAN Disposal. Please do not let the CVRD take away PAN Disposal’s business. We are very pleased with their services and we want to support small business owners in our community.

I recall the Eco Depot being a financial and social catastrophe when the CVRD tried to force a recycling facility on a community that neither needed it nor wanted it. Let’s not have a repeat of that misuse of taxpayer money, time and energy. It’s preposterous that we have to constantly go up against our own local government (waste disposal) and provincial government (combating the toxic soil dump above our watershed).

Do the right thing: let PAN Disposal keep its contracts and its business. Waste disposal and composting certainly matter to this community and we are more than satisfied with the current services we are receiving. The CVRD is trying (again) to step in where there is no need. The service is already being provided. Clients are happy. A business is able to support its workers and their families. Please ensure that they can continue to do so.
