Anti-LGBT letter like lobbing a grenade
I am disgusted that this newspaper saw it fit to post such blatantly anti-LGBT letters in your opinions section over the past couple of days.
If the intent was to “spark discussion,” I wish to point out that real life LGBT are members of this community, not some abstract concept ripe for use as a “thought experiment”. Forcing us and our allies to expend the emotional labour to have to refute this type of bigotry is not something many of us relish.
Attitudes like the ones you have published make people’s lives worse. You gave a platform to a bigot, like lobbing a grenade at the LGBT community, then ran away and left us to pick up the pieces. Not cool.
