Wayne William Palliser (Weiner) born September 28, 1949 passed away peacefully at Cowichan District Hospital January 26, 2011 with his family beside him. He will be missed greatly by his wife Pamela of 38 years, and his children Nadine Mitchell (Nicholas) and Myles Palliser. His greatest joy in life were his kids. He enjoyed watching and supporting Nadine’s skating and Myles’ hockey and other sports through the years. Wayne’s first grandchild, Cohen Mitchell arrived this past September, and Wayne couldn’t of been happier. Weiner was loved and will be remembered by his sisters Judy Palliser of Vancouver, Jayne (Bruce) Ingram of Lake Cowichan Jeri Fisher of Vancouver; nephews Andrew McCurrach, Justin Fisher, Jami Ingram, Robert Ingram; cousins Lynne (Tony) Burrows, Bill (Debbie) Palliser, son Eric, and many other nieces and nephews and friends.
Wayne is preceded by his grandmother Verna Palliser in 1991, his father Charles Hugh (Tod) Palliser in 1993, his mother Betty Palliser in 1998, his uncle Vern Palliser in 1979, and auntie Irene Palliser in 2005.
Weiner made his living as a logging truck driver, his co-workers were his spice in life; spending many hours monkey wrenching trucks. His values were honest and loyal, his handshake was respected as it was his word. On the other hand he enjoyed the odd caper for a greater cause! He also had a great love of the outdoors and even golf, for a while. Weiner’s favorite times were spent with his close buddies, hunting and fishing trips up north to Fishem, Tusca, and the Prairies with his Labrador.
A memorial tea will be held at Lake Cowichan Centennial Hall, February 6, 2011 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. He was a dedicated friend and family man; Weiner’s wish was for friends and family to be together and reminisce of the good times they all shared. His memory will live in our hearts forever.
