Passed away peacefully on April 22, 2008 after a sudden illness at the age of 79. She will be deeply missed by her loving son David.

Predeceased by her husband Ken of 48 years, parents Emil and Mary Englund; sister Agnes Sherrill, brothers: Francis (Marge), Manfred (Jean), and Rolf. Survived by twin sister Alice, sister Iris, brothers: Val (Linda), and Wayne (Priscilla); 8 nieces and 11 nephews.

Trudie was born in Lillooet BC on October 11, 1928 and moved to Lake Cowichan in 1952 shortly after finishing her training in Vancouver to continue her beloved primary school teaching career which she practiced over 30 years that started in a one room school and finished at A B Greenwell with pauses for motherhood and working at Dr. Sharp’s dental office in between. Her many interests included tutoring, cake decorating, badminton, curling, and service with the local Kinettes club. She developed a passion for golf spending many happy days as a member of March Meadows Golf Club (especially when the putter was working). In retirement she enjoyed travel and gardening in addition to good fellowship with the Golden Agers at the Cowichan Lake District Seniors’ Centre and at St Louis De Montfort parish.

She was able to enjoy and stay in her home with the assistance of many caring neighbours and friends.

She will be sadly missed by all the lives she touched along her journey of life.

Special thanks to Dr. Kerswell and the staff of the Emergency, 2nd Floor, and Intensive Care units at Cowichan District Hospital.

All are welcome to attend a Celebration of Trudie’s Life at 97 Park Road in Lake Cowichan on Saturday,

May 3rd, 2008 between 1 pm and 5 pm.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Trudie’s memory to the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

Together always with her beloved Ken
