Maureen HOHNER

February 29, 2008

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen Hohner (née MacMillen) on February 29, 2008 at Duncan BC after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Born April 12, 1957 at Duncan BC, Maureen, an Island girl, lived at various parts of Vancouver Island during her life, including Port Renfrew, Caycuse, Duncan, Cowichan Bay, Chemainus, Saltair and most recently Ladysmith.

Maureen will be remembered for her independent spirit, facing challenges on her own, in her own way. She was a proud employee of the pulp mill in Crofton for 30 years. Maureen was a good mother, and was extremely proud of her accomplished and beautiful daughter, Erin, who graduates from high school this year.

Predeceased by her mother, Velma Ann MacMillen. Lovingly remembered by daughter Erin Aileen Roe, father Robert MacMillen (Christine). Sisters Terry Peters (Bill),and Coleen Bush, brother Patrick MacMillen (Deb) and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and coworkers.

Thank you from the family to Doctor Swann and Doctor Leckie and the terrific third floor nursing staff at the Cowichan District Hospital for their loving care of Maureen during her stay.

The family would like to invite anyone wishing to celebrate Maureen’s life to attend a tea at the Royal Canadian Legion, 621 First Ave., Ladysmith, BC on Thursday March 6 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
