Gordie passed peacefully in his sleep on July 16, 2008

Predeceased by his wife Vivian Jones. Survived by children: Fern Rawson (John), Wesley Jones (Jennette), Red Deer; grandchildren: Stacey Rawson (Blake), Richard Rawson (Heidi), Angela Rawson (Chuck), Bridgette Jones; great-grandchildren: Morgan, Hannah, Joshua, Eric, Jada; sister: Ramona Bourque (Peace River). And many cousins, nieces and nephews, too many to name.

Born in Fort Vermilion Alberta, Gordie moved to Peace River, then Grimshaw, then Saskatchewan, then the Island, finally landing in Lake Cowichan where he loved to go the Seniors’ center and play pool. Gordie was deemed indestructible by all who knew and loved him. He spent most of his working life with Grimshaw Trucking and the oil rigs in northern Alberta. He will be loved and missed by all.

Cremation by request, no service by request.

Donations in Gordie’s name may be made to the Canadian Heart and Lung Association, and the Canadian Cancer Association.
