April 28th 1961 – September 22nd 2008

Cheryl brought light, laughter and joy into the lives of all who knew her. She was taken from us far too soon and we will always miss our daughter, sister, mother, wife and friend.

She was born in Nanaimo B.C. on April 28th 1961, the eldest of Ken & Pauline MacMillan’s four children. The first of her many and varied careers was with the B.C. Forest Service because she loved the outdoors but her entrepreneurial spirit soon pulled her in other directions and eventually she found the ideal combination of creativity and freedom as a hair stylist. Cherylanne owned and operated three successful salons on the Sunshine Coast.

Cheryl was never afraid to try something new and once she mastered it, she was ready to teach anyone else who was interested. She taught aerobics, line dancing, swing dancing and yoga. Being fit and active was easy for Cheryl because she loved to move! She had an enormous passion for music and as a founding member of the Sunshine Coast Live Music Society she shared that passion with the entire community by bringing people together for good times and good sounds.

Our family is enormously grateful for the outpouring of compassion and support from Cheryl’s friends during her illness. In lieu of flowers we request that donations be made in Cheryl’s memory to The Centre for Integrated Healing, www.healing.bc.ca, (604) 734 7125.
