Two men from Duncan were arrested after getting caught red handed in a drug deal on Sept. 7.

An in depth investigation by the local street crime unit allowed for a search warrant to be issued on 52-year-old Anthony S. Pitts’s home who was subsequently charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.

A 39-year-old man was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance and charges are pending.

This was a proactive investigation targeting a suspected “dial-a-dope” drug dealer operating through the Municipality of North Cowichan and the City of Duncan.

“Our investigation led us to a residence where we sought a search warrant and seized drugs we believe were intended for sale,” said Staff Sergeant Kurt Bosnell, the Plain Clothes Commander for the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP.
