Signs on the outside doors of Lake Cowichan’s Riverside Inn Friday night said “Sold Out!” and once through the doors, it was clear they really meant it.

The pub was jammed for the much-anticipated performance by Eagle Eyes, a tribute band to the famous 70s country rockers The Eagles, but this wasn’t just any group, the band featured Lake Cowichan’s own Jack (Bub) Gunderson and his friends.

Most came because they had a friend in the band, or they were Eagles fans. But the audience went away delighted following an evening of fabulous entertainment.

These guys are really good. They kicked off the 9 p.m. show right at 9 p.m. with ‘Peaceful, Easy Feeling’ and just grooved on from there. It only took one song before some enthusiastic fans were up dancing, and even those packed around the tables were rockin’ with the music.

This writer would bet it won’t be long before they’re back for another show.
